Video Coaching   back to top
Get access to a Licensed Parelli Professional regardless of where you live or whether you can get your horse to the professional’s location. Video coaching is a means by which anyone can get feedback and help as they progress through the levels of Parelli Natural Horsemanship.

HOW IT WORKS: Read, study, and play through the Savvy System Program Packs. When you get stuck or just want some feedback about how you are doing, make a video demonstrating what you are doing and how the horse is responding. Make a copy of the video. Then send Teri one copy of the video and you keep a copy. Be sure to include a note stating when the best time to contact you would be, keeping in mind  Teri is most available early mornings and evenings. When she gets it, she will call you. You will watch the session together and she can troubleshoot and give you feedback. The fee is $1.50/min of video to be paid when you send the tape. Additional time spent in consultation beyond the run time of the tape, will be charged to your credit card or billed at $1.00/min at the end of the session.

Ready for coaching? Contact Teri.

What Knot to Know--Spend a social afternoon with Parelli friends learning or refreshing your memory on these important horseman’s  knots:  half hitch, clove hitch, neck tie (for tying the mecate part of the rope around your horse’s neck when riding), pulley knot, sky line knot, horseman’s bowline, bank robbers’ knot, hackamore, bosal/hackamore knot, etc. as time allows.  We may even learn a rope trick or two!  (2-3 hrs )

Are You Ready...To Trail Ride??--You have been practicing perfectly in an arena, but how do you know when you are ready to tackle wide open spaces??  This playshop will explore the perks and perils of trail riding, what makes a good trail horse, how to know if your horse is a good candidate and what to do to help him/her if they are not.  We will simulate how to equalize impulsion, desensitize to trail hazards, improve safety maneuvers like the emergency dismount, and how to be a good leader for our horse.  We will also discuss how to overcome common trail riding issues, trail etiquette and safety.

How to Buy a Horse—Based on “Pat Parelli’s Pre-Purchase Plan” Learn how to evaluate yourself and your potential purchase to create the best possible match, and therefore the greatest possibility for success. (1-2 hrs.)

Horse Training/Development   back to top
Teri is a Licensed 3-Star Parelli Horse Professional. Her specialty is foal imprinting and young horse training and ground development through Level 4. She also starts horses under saddle and does foundation training through Level 4 including riding. It is important for all people intending for Teri to do training to understand that although Teri may be able to produce a certain level of performance with their horse, that that training will only transfer to the degree that the owner has the same level of love, language, and leadership. In light of this, it is imperative that the owner also commit to developing their own horsemanship skills to a level that will match the horse’s horsenality. Usually this is at least Level 2, although some horsenalities require Level 3 or higher. If the horse requires a high level of savvy, it may be necessary for the owner to develop their skills on another horse before applying them to the more difficult horse.

Contact Teri for more information about Horse Training and Development.
